The Last Days of Jesus Documentary re-examining the crucifixion, revealing the events that may have sparked Jesus' religious movement including the death of John the Baptist and an increasing resentment among the people towards the religious authorities' opulent lifestyles and obedience to Rome. The programme also examines how power was shifting in the highest reaches of the Roman Empire, while archaeologists reveal new findings concerning Jesus' execution. The events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion have long been honoured by Christians. But religious experts have started questioning the established version of events.
